Beetle Drive kick-starts the fun

The very first fun event of the new school year arranged by the Parent Staff Association (PSA) took place on Thursday 15 September.

The annual Beetle Drive game evening is a firm favourite with kids and adults alike. There’s usually lots of hilarity (and usually a little sneaky cheating!) as teams of two roll dice as fast as they can to draw all the beetle body parts before anyone else does.

Around 100 people came to join in the fun this year. We waived the usual entry fee, instead asking for donations at the door. With our excellent Master of Ceremonies Trudi counting down and calling the games, the teams rolled dice and drew frantically, fuelled by snacks and drinks from the tuck shop. Congratulations to the winning team: Innes, Ethan and Theo!

The event raised a small net profit of £172 towards the PSA’s funds to enhance the school environment and experience for our children.

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who helped make the evening a success – organiser Orlagh and caller Trudi; Ke, Louise, Andy and Mairi who helped set up; Mark and Tracy on tuck shop and the many who helped invigilate and clear away.
