Reading Riot Update

Welcome to a Reading Riot update from your Wardie Reading Riot Team!

Hello from the Reading Riot team!

Pupils are being spotted across Wardie Primary, Trinity Primary and Victoria Primary wearing Reading Riot lanyards!! Our Reading Riot team went out as roving reporters to photograph pupils across the school wearing lanyards… See the photos below. Can you spot any teachers who are keen readers?

These keen readers can be seen proudly sporting their lanyards for all to see! Within the Wardie community pupils can earn alphabet beads if they are spotted wearing a lanyard in Scotmid, the Post Office or the chemist. Pupils have already been bringing these beads into school after chatting about reading out in the local community which is fantastic! Wardie will be collecting these beads in the foyer of the school as we work towards different targets and rewards.

Our Reading Riot roving reporters also interviewed some pupils to hear what they thought about the Reading Riot:

“It’s really good and it helps you to read even more.”

“I really enjoy the Reading Riot, because it is good fun and you can learn things from the books that you read.”

“It helps people to make up their own stories because you can borrow words from the stories that you read.”

“The Reading Riot is really good because there is a prize at the end that encourages you to read more.”

“The Reading Riot is great for people of all ages because you don’t just have to read a book, someone can read a book to you.”

“It helps encourage people to enjoy reading who might not have liked it before.”

“The Reading Riot helps you to relax when you are reading.”

So Wardie, get reading and display your lanyards with pride!
